Old Man and Horse

Done in one of my favorite techniques, drawn in oil pastels and then blended with thinner dipped brushes. I like that I can get both drawn and painted looking elements. It is from a photo I took near Bear Butte.

Prayer Plant

A drawing from a drawing class in college. Objects were laid around the floor, in positions and relations not like I drew. I drew the objects in a very tight configuration and after I was done I started thinking how much it reminded me of some kind of game: a clock and a bucket of balls controlled by plaster heads and a mouth.

This is a charcoal drawing I did in college. It is the second drawing I did that incorporated eyes into natural objects. It became a bit of a signature style I have used in dozens of drawings and paintings.
